For more than 20 years, I was in the marketing and advertising business in Central Indiana. I developed comprehensive marketing plans that utilized traditional media, like television, newspaper and radio, and also utilized contemporary digital media, like Google, Facebook and YouTube. I was the director of marketing for local businesses that specialized in quick-lube oil changes, replacement windows, sunroom additions, car/truck sales, heavy-duty truck sales, insurance, newspapers and magazines. And for a time when I wasn’t directing advertising and marketing efforts, I was selling advertising.
I developed the marketing plan, but I also had to execute it and that meant working with the executive management team, the marketing team, the sales team and the vendors on a daily basis. I became an expert communicator, task manager, finance manager, negotiator, and sales person.
In those 20 years the marketing tools changed significantly, but what remained the same was my ability to adapt to the current environment successfully.
Besides volunteering for my children’s school or for their athletic organization, I am on the volunteer marketing committee for the Indianapolis Zoo fundraiser, Zoobilation. I am also a consistent donor to the United Way of Central Indiana, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
Without fail, after every real estate transaction, I donate a part of my commission to the Century 21 Scheetz Foundation, which helps local families in need. Our Foundation generously gives grants to people in our community who have fallen on hard times whether that might from an injury, illness or other life-altering crisis.
Right now, I spend most of my free time chasing my kids or hauling them to/from their activities! #MomTaxi
When time allows, our family loves boating and fishing! We are fortunate to enjoy our extended-family’s place at Heritage Lake in Putnam County, Indiana or our fishing cottage in northern Ontario, Canada. And when we can’t make time for either of those, you’ll find us kayaking in our neighborhood lake or at the neighborhood pool.
One of my favorite hobbies is scuba diving, however it’s not something I get to do very often. One of my most favorite dives was in Cozumel, Mexico with my brother and his wife.
I have a public relations and marketing degree from Ball State University and I also completed a certificate in business administration from Ball State.
Continuing education is something I value and have taken many classes from Butler University in Indianapolis, Bentley University in Massachusetts, and Drake University in Iowa.
I grew up in Kokomo and I live in Carmel, Indiana with my husband, our two children and our dog. My husband is a graduate of Butler University and is an advertising sales account executive for a local television station. We eloped in New York City in the fall of 2006 and now we have an elementary-aged son and daughter. We also attend Northview Church in Carmel.
